The LinkScanner SDK has been created to enable third-party developers to access Exploit Prevention Labs' proprietary exploit detections and malicious site lists for inclusion in their own Windows-based applications.

The SDK provides the following functionality:

• Check an IP address, url or domain against XPL's malicious site database.
• Scan individual web pages for known exploits, phishing, and other social engineering attacks using XPL's exploit detections.
• Scan individual web pages and their embedded links and referenced sites for exploits, phishing, and other social engineering attacks.
• Update the malsite detection databases online from XPL or via a user-specified web site.

Two programming models are available for accessing the SDK:

• As a standard DLL (XPLmwSDK.dll). This is the preferred choice for applications written in C or C++ (non .NET).
• As a COM object (XPLmwCOM.dll). This is the preferred choice for applications written in VBScript, Visual Basic 6, or one of the .NET languages (VB, C#, J#, ASP). When the SDK is installed, the XPLmwCOM object is automatically registered.
